Chipotle Mexican Grill is a popular restaurant chain across the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, and France. Founded in 1993, it's popularity spiked with the rise of "fast-casual" dining experiences in recent years, which Chipotle has now come to define with it's production-line approach to picking what you want.

This section will explore the process of ordering a meal at Chipotle Mexican Grill. It does not consider take-out (or take-away).
Enter[]
Chipotle's do not have a uniform layout, which makes determining where the line (or queue) forms challenging. Depending on the location, the line will form ahead of you, to your left, or to your right. If people are formed in a line already, then the person at the cash register is at the end of the line (they are finished). Another indication is that you begin your order on the side of the counter with a large press, used to toast tortillas.
Depending on the time of day, the line could extend outside the entrance or you may be able to walk right up to the counter (this also makes the noise level variable). You will not need to interact with anyone through this step.

When it is your turn, a worker will ask what you want (see options below). When you answer, they will ask if it is for here or to-go (take-out, take-away). This is so they can prepare the packaging to take outside. You may need to speak up in order for the employee to hear you as the kitchen is behind them and a restaurant is behind you. Glass below your chest will separate you from the ingredients for sanitary purposes.

Chipotle offers 4 main entrees: Burritos, Tacos, Bowls, and Salads. A bowl is supposed to be everything in a burrito without the tortilla, ate with a fork. The ingredients that stretch the length of the counter are then yours to select. They are broken into components below, which can be chosen, ignored, or you can order extra of. Guacamole, Queso, and Salsa can be ordered alone with chips. You can request toppings on the side.

All locations will offer a small and large bag of chips. Fountain drinks are available and some locations serve alcohol.
Payment[]
The employee at the cash register may confirm what you ordered with you if needed. They will also ask if you want chips or a drink. Tipping is acceptable and there is a jar to do so.
